This is part of a collection of songs that I composed for my friend's Peggle-like game, "Ice Breakers".  These songs represent my first foray into video game composition.  To play and hear the songs in-game, please visit www.nsparisi.com/portfolio/icebreakers

Almost a return to the basic trading style of the theme, "Happy Smashing!" is just a happy, major swing tune.  Attentive listeners may notice that the rhythm section never varies from theme to solo to solo... but I was kind of crunched for time to write new bass lines and hand drum patterns for every section... and wasn't really counting on people noticing anyway.  The first person that names what song is alluded to in the tune will receive a complimentary lunch from me if we ever meet at a convention (and just props).  I'll give you a hint: think of the style--and I'm not referring to it technically being in the video game genre.

Seems like it would grow on you after many listens

Pretty cool song, dude... I think during the first listen or two it's a little overwhelming with all the changes and technical stuff. After a few more listens, I started to dig it a lot more. The percussion sounds like it was recorded live...

I'm gonna go try it in-game.

You owe me lunch =) What is "The Entertainer."

Haha, good guess, but it is not "The Entertainer"! It's also almost half a century younger than that piece.

No way....

won't believe it...
