This is a WIP of a song from Noise and a Beat's F-Zero Album. It is a colabberation between myself and Main Finger. For this song I took the lead, but Main Finger provided much synth work as well as some of the more clever drum fills.
This is one of my first full VG arrangements. I did the primary arrangement on this track as well as performance of the live instruments. I also did the mixing myself and I am pretty new at that. I find it too be too mid heavy and hard to hear the details in some sections.
Some of the instruments will be rerecorded before the final version is done, and it will hopefully be mixed much better. But please let me know what you think.
Thanks.
Several issues

I think this is a good start, but I was bothered by several issues. The biggest, I believe, is the lack of variety. At some points, the same phrase is repeated three or four times in a row before moving on. While the phrase might be good by itself, it becomes boring when it's overused. That's probably why this song is strongest in the beginning - after about one minute, it starts to lose steam as if there were only a small set of phrases that could be used and you had exhausted that set.
But then again, that could be a weakness of the source material. If there were some way to get around intellectual property issues, I would like to add a way to upload the original track along with a song. That way, you could compare whether the remix is an issue or whether the artist simply chose the wrong song to mix.
One simple change which I think would earn another star all by itself would be to adjust the volume levels of the tracks. The acoustic guitar (if that's what it is) was almost completely drowned out by the other instruments. It was so quiet that I had trouble discerning whether it actually was an acoustic guitar or something else.
Anyway, great to have you here. Please review others' songs so that I'm not the only one posting reviews until more people come along!
Source Material

The source of this song is very limited. It is for an arranged album, so we didn't skip over the song. But I do agree it should be changed up a bit to make it more interesting. It could stand to stray from the source material for a more dynamic feel. Thanks for the review.
