Shredster7 - Jazz of the Netherfish (To... (+others)) (v1)

NewSongBot · January 14, 2013 at 02:06 UTC

Jazz of the Netherfish
Shredster7 has posted a new song. Please provide the artist some feedback in this thread.

Jazz of the Netherfish
Release date: 2013-01-13
Length: 3:34
Games: Toy Commander, SEGA Marine Fishing, Minecraft
Work in progress: Yes
Version: 1
Tags and details: Link

I consider myself something of a Drum & Bass / Classic Rock artist, but for this song I went with something totally different: Jazz. I honestly don't know that much about the genre (Other than The Doors were really good at some variation of it), so you'll have to excuse me if this actually sounds really awful.

This is actually a medley of four different songs: Calm4.ogg from Minecraft, Classis Beep from Toy Commander, and Coral Reef and The Shallow from Sega Marine Fishing.

This version is currently a W.I.P, and I'm looking for ways to improve on the song, so any constructive feedback is greatly appreciated!

That's odd, I thought W.I.P. songs weren't added to the New Song Feed on the front page? Or am I mistaken?

That is true for the front page, and hasn't changed with the latest release. But with these forum posts, I thought that if people weren't notified of WIP releases, there would be no way for artists to actually get any feedback on works in progress. And without feedback, artists would never get to a final release.

What do you think of creating a separate forum for works in progress, so that automatic posts for works in progress are separated from automatic posts for final releases? Or do you think that works in progress should never be announced for any reason?

The first idea seems better to me. It's undeniable that works in progress need feedback, but (in my experience, anyways) having WIPs and full releases mixed together in the same area can get pretty messy.
