Over the past few days, the number of people visiting remixSite has increased 13 times. The additional load on the database has caused the song listing grids to take as long as 45 seconds to load. Playlists and toplists are also affected by this problem.

After four hours of investigation, it was determined that there is no easy way to resolve the issue, and that a significant rearchitecting of the system will be required. This weekend, I hope to begin resolving the issue by caching grid content. In the meantime, voting for Composition Combat can continue as before, as listening to songs directly is not affected by the slowdown.
